“So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen…” -2 Timothy 2:10
When you have discovered what God has created you to do, there is nothing you won’t be willing to endure against yourself in order to see God’s purposes accomplished. We are naturally prone to self preservation, often at the cost of Christ’s Kingdom purposes. Yet, when God’s power gets a hold of you and God’s heart for something begins to beat in your chest, the self sacrificial nature of Jesus will manifest itself in you. When you become weary in the process, like Paul, consider the endurance of Jesus.
Hebrews 12:3 – For consider Him (Christ) who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
There is no time to walk through each day without purpose and passion; without drive or direction toward a God intended destination. Paul’s focus and sacrifice came from a confident awareness of who Jesus made him to be and what Jesus had asked him to do. This is why Paul was able to write, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”
Do you know what Jesus has asked you to, “press on” towards? If you don’t, I encourage you to spend some serious time seeking Him for that information. The good news is that He is more than happy to tell us! When you discover your God given mission, both daily and long term, you will be able to effectively and supernaturally give all that is needed to see those things come to pass.
Lord, may our lives reflect that we have discovered the things that are worthy of our time, passion and sacrifice. May your purposes be accomplished through us today as we give ourselves completely to Your will. In Jesus name, amen!
