John Arthur Blevins
December 12, 1951 – September 25, 2025
John Arthur Blevins, 73, of Chino, California, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 25, 2025. John was a righteous man who loved Jesus deeply and carried a lifelong passion for seeing the lost come to know Christ. His life was a testimony of faith in action—never just words, but love poured out in countless ways.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Debbie; his sons Joshua (Ashley) Blevins and Jordan (Molly) Blevins; his many cherished grandchildren and a great-grandchild; all of whom brought him special joy.
John was known for his incredible generosity—if he had it, you could have it. He was a gifted songwriter, worship leader, and author whose words carried both wit and wisdom. A faithful husband and father, he found his greatest delight in being “Grandpa John” to his grandchildren and his adopted grandkids. He also had a great love for the outdoors, whether hunting in the quiet woods or chasing the big catch on the open sea. John was also proud to have served his nation in the US Army.
And then there was his humor—unforgettable, sometimes cheesy, but always genuine. He had a way of making people laugh, even himself, and even in hard moments, reminding us that joy is part of the Christian journey. If you knew John, you probably have a story that still makes you smile.
Above all, John’s life was anchored in Christ. He had a pastor’s heart, served as a chaplain for Chino PD, and faithfully ministered to prisoners in Chino State Prison for over 30 years. John’s greatest desire in life was for others to know the truth and salvation of Christ, which led him to share the gospel with everyone he came in contact with. Over his lifetime, he led countless people to put their faith in Jesus. His deep, abiding faith shaped everything he did, and his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched through his words, kindness, and example.
A funeral service will be held at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills on Sunday, October 12, at 4:30 pm in room W201. Reception will immediately follow.

Josh, I never had the opportunity to meet your dad, but looking forward to meeting him in Heaven…….I have had the blessings of your ministry and spiritual knowledge…….God bless your family with grace and comfort at this time…
John was such a beautiful soulful person, truly a man of God. We attended church with John at Chino Free Methodist (New Hope) and just loved him and his family. My mom, Lenora, was the pianist there and her and John played a lot of music together. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. God bless
Josh
I have stood side by side with John many times witnessing to inmates at Chino Institute for Men, and considered him a dear friend.
He always talked about your achievements and Pastoral leadership.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
