Though nothing I could write would do justice to the life and ministry of Billy Graham, I would be remiss not to express some brief thoughts about his incredible impact.
Billy Graham…
In a culture of celebrity pastors, he was a constant beacon of true humility.
In an age of pastoral scandal, he was a rock of integrity, purity and unshakable character.
In an environment of ideas and relativism, he was a consistent voice of truth.
In a world of black and white, he portrayed healthy diversity and pragmatism. His love reached beyond race, politics, denominations and nationalities, yet he never compromised the simple message of the cross. Grace and truth and its finest.
Through years of cultural upheaval and division, both in the church and the world, he remained relevant and brought unity into the most divided places.
Among the many modern day apostles, prophets, evangelists and pastor/teachers, Billy Graham is among the few who could say with great confidence, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ.”
What a legacy to leave after 50 years of ministry and almost 100 years of life. Oh, what amazing things God can do with a willing and humble human being!
1 Corinthians 4:15-16 – Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
